You’ll explore the principles of biblical giving, learning how this gift can create a culture of abundance in your business while keeping your motivations pure and aligned with God’s will.
Week 2: Weakness 1—Giving Without Discernment
You’ll learn about King Hezekiah in (2 Kings 20:12-19), and how generosity can be misguided when it’s done without wisdom or guidance. This week, you’ll focus on the importance of giving with discernment and understanding, recognizing that not every opportunity to give is aligned with God’s will for your business.
Day 8-14: You’ll reflect on Hezekiah’s undiscerning generosity when he flaunted his treasures to Babylonian envoys, and how his prideful actions led to disastrous consequences. You’ll also study Jesus’ model of Spirit-led giving (Mark 6:30-44), where generosity was motivated by compassion, not impulse.
Week 3: Weakness 2—Performing vs. Partnering with God
Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5:1-11) gave for the wrong reasons, seeking recognition and approval rather than giving out of pure devotion. This week, you’ll explore the importance of giving from a place of humility, honoring God with your generosity and seeking His glory, not the praise of others.
Day 15-21: You’ll study Ananias and Sapphira’s deceitful giving and the consequences of performing for appearances rather than partnering with God. You’ll also reflect on Mary of Bethany (John 12:1-8), whose lavish gift of perfume was an act of love and devotion, given freely without expectation of recognition.
By the end of this 21-day plan, you’ll have a deep understanding of how to steward your spiritual gift of giving in a way that aligns with God’s purpose for your business.
